Jayce has hit the “Why? Stage” a bit early. Except instead of asking the infamous toddler question “Why?” he asks “Dat?”
He wants to know what everything is. He’ll walk around any room and with a constant stream of: Dat? Dat? Dat? as he points to everything in sight. Sometime he really adds some emphasis to it: daaaat?
It got me to thinking about all the words he starting to say. A few weeks ago it was just mamma, daddy, em and dat? Here’s an update:
- Em & Sissy (kind of a sh-issy)
- Ocks (socks)
- Shhh-s (shoes)
- Hat (mostly silent “h” but strong gesture to the head)
- Da (dog)
- Side (outside)
- Inky (stinky – time for a new diaper)
- Ott (hot)
And of course we still have a lot of ugh’s and pointing. I’ve been very impressed with the word he’s added lately though. He’s really trying to talk!
